A first of its kind and sponsored by Bank Windhoek, the event will see school youth battle it out for the top honours in school volleyball. “We are delighted to bring volleyball closer to schools. The event will create better competition opportunities for school-going players yet to play at the senior level," said NVF's President Hillary Imbuwa. “The NVF will continue to promote and grow the game in line with our key strategic objective of grass root development, whereas schools and teachers are key in meeting this objective."
The Bank Windhoek NVF School Tournament winners will walk away with a floating trophy, medals and cash prizes to the tune of N$10 000.
Imbuwa concluded that volleyball had become a way of life for many young people. “We plan to get more stakeholders on board to assist with similar school tournaments in other parts of the country soon. We are looking forward to a great tournament," he said.
