Discontinuation of Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) transactions to the Common Monetary Area (CMA)

 

Bank Windhoek hereby reminds its clients that from Tuesday 10 September 2024, internet banking payments to South Africa will be processed as cross-border payments, with additional information and Balance of Payments (BOP) reporting enforced.

We would like to assure our customers that all the necessary system enhancements to the internet banking pl​atform have been applied to allow for a seamless experience.

Bank Windhoek clients can therefore continue to make payments to South African beneficiaries on the Bank Windhoek Internet Banking platform using the existing beneficiaries.

While it is not necessary to recreate beneficiaries, it is advisable to ensure that the be​​neficiary information is completed with beneficiary residential address, beneficiary contact details and that the purpose of the payments is correctly selected to ensure correct reporting.

CMA payments will be subject to the below cut-off times:

14:30

Weekends and public holidays

No p​rocessing, will be processed the next business day

 

The pricing and processing times of transactions will be affected, and clients can expect longer turnaround times.
